Teachers Using Google Sites
The Google folks asked teachers to send them examples of how they use Google Sites in their classes.
Google Sites is is a free and easy way to create and share webpages which they promote as "powerful enough for a company intranet, yet simple enough for a family website."
They received submissions that ranged from sites used to document class trips, class websites, student projects on the human body, world geography. Most of the submissions were from K-12 teachers, but they also had higher education sites sent in such as one used to promote a nationwide mechanical engineering competition.
Sebasticook Valley Middle School in Maine used Google Sites to create their school website. Their website has a calendar of school events, features a slideshow highlighting recent student projects and events, and includes an embedded school blog and links to other school resources and events. Teachers can link to their class sites directly from the school's main website.
